After the storm

Did you have a Happy Halloween? We did. It’s honestly one of my favorite days of the year. I told hub yesterday that I really enjoy the community aspect. I dress up along with the kids, and I have neighbors that do, too. Luis sometimes dresses up as well, but didn’t this year. We admire the creative costuming and spend hours walking and talking with friends and neighbors which is something we don’t get to do at any other time of year. One house in the neighborhood is famous for giving the choice of a fabulous non-candy bag of goodies or Chili. So welcome on a cool night! I didn’t take many pictures, but the thought of the laughter and light we all shared will help keep me warm this winter.

We were barely touched by Sandy and all of my family and friends in the New York area are ok. Some are dealing with flooding or loss of power, but luckily, they all have the means to recover. And for that, I am grateful.

Your neighborhood sounds amazing. What a beat idea to serve chili. Since we’re new here it was nice seeing all of our neighbors out too. I love Halloween so much. Glad you guys didn’t get hit hard by the storm. Hoping your friends and family stay safe and dry.
